Success Stories

Fawaz Ahmed Manoly
Chief Audit Executive, Petrogas E&P LLC
Muscat, Oman
I was aiming for an Executive Master course where I could gain insight to both the functional and commercial aspects of various energy sectors. I have been associated with several multinational oil and gas companies, primarily delivering internal audit and finance related assignments. The major oil and gas companies are diversifying into renewables sector, and with a broader objective to achieve the ESG goals. The Executive Master in Energy Management programme was a perfect blend with focus on techno-commercial aspects within various energy sectors. The course gave me a good insight into various management functions and disciplines such as project financing, law and economics within the energy industry. The modules were imparted in different campuses and allowed me to gain multiple insights from various energy sector professionals, at different regional and international perspectives. The online modules were all very well structured in terms of the delivery and content and allowed flexibility to learn. The EMEM programme has substantially broadened my learning within the energy management functions and has enabled me to deliver more value in my profession.

The Executive Master in Energy Management is a highly practical programme for professionals in search of expanding their strategic thinking and industry know-how. Attending the modules in different countries allowed us to visit and meet different companies under different environments and cultures, further enriching the experience. Each professor brought to the classroom a world of experience and insight on the industry, as well as encouraged intellectual discussions, not just for personal growth but also applicable to our day to day work. We also received workshops on research, trading, and other fun dynamics. I am very proud to have been a part of this programme. As a lawyer from Honduras working in renewable energy, the knowledge and understanding acquired through this programme on foreign energy markets and different technologies has expanded my opportunities as a global energy professional.
Laurent Villiers
Associate Director, Site Services and Utilities EMEA at Merck Procurement Global
Lyon, France
I was looking for a programme that would develop the skills needed in the energy sector and provide a high level of comprehension of the industry. A programme that would focus on the industry’s challenges and advancements whilst highlighting the expertise in managing project financing as well as innovation. The EMEM programme was a wonderful journey that built a deep understanding of the energy ecosystem. By developing a holistic view of the multiple stakes of future energy, the programme is the most international and complete program I found. It provided me with practical skills applicable to my company, as well as the key knowledge on how to build strategies and make key decisions within complex and volatile environments. The diversity of my fellow classmates was also a great add-on, exploring the challenges each of us are facing in our various regions. Since completing the programme, the future strategy for Renewable Energy Sourcing is now under my leadership within my company. I know that the skills and knowledge I have gained throughout the programme will be invaluable to my career now and in the future.
